The first racing in Ireland since the foot-and-mouth outbreak, is due to re-commence with the Leopardstown Easter meeting next week, and organisers at the racecourse have urged racegoers to take caution when arriving at the course.
In compliance with The Irish Horseracing Authority and the Turf Club, with the approval of the Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development in relation to FMD, organisers have introduced the following restrictions for the Leopardstown meeting on Monday 16th April.
- Cars will not be permitted access to the racecourse via the Foxrock Gate, on race days until further notice.
- Members of the public will be required to enter the racecourse through the official gates only - Leopardstown Road and Ballyogan Road. On entry, all vehicles must pass over soaked disinfectant pads provided.
- Vehicles covered in mud will not be allowed entry to the racecourse.
- Members of the public will be required to walk over disinfectant mats prior to going through the turnstiles.
- Racegoers are asked to give themselves adequate time to arrive for the first race at 2pm.
