ULSTER SFC FINAL/Tyrone 1-18 Antrim 0-15:Mickey Harte's side picked up their 12th provincial title as they put an end to Antrim's glorious run in Ulster with a six-point victory in Clones.

The defending All-Ireland champions broke fast and Seán Cavanagh’s goal after 11 minutes left Tyrone 1-3 to 0-1 ahead.

Operating from midfield, Cavanagh took a fine pass from Stephen O’Neill and burst through a vacant Antrim defence to fire home and turn their early dominance on the pitch into hard fact on the scoreboard.

Antrim corner-forward Paddy Cunningham was keeping his side above water as he scored four points in the opening half, but Tyrone were just too clinical as they pushed their advantage out to six points by the break (1-8 to 0-5).

Far from capitulating, Liam Bradley’s side showed just why they have got this far with a much-improved performance after the interval.

It still wasn’t enough to match Tyrone, with man-of-the-match Cavanagh claiming a personal tally of 1-4, while all but one of their points coming from play.

Antrim go on to the Qualifier series where they may yet continue their dream season. And they will do so with a forward in brilliant touch as Cunningham finished with 11 points in a fine individual performance.
