Sailing: Eric Lisson is set to win his second Round Ireland Yacht Race after crossing the finishing line in Wicklow in the early hours of this morning.
After more than six days at sea, the Cavatina completed the 704-mile course shortly after 1.15am this morning and is expected to be confirmed as winner under the handicap system.
Defending champion Eamon Crosbie on Teng had already reached Wicklow Sailing Club but is set to lose out to the Cork-based Catavina as it made it home inside the handicap time deadline.
Lisson and Cavatina will become just join the late Denis Doyle and the famed Moonduster in the record books for winning the circumnavigation of Ireland twice.
