RTE journalist Charlie Bird will be in the High Court in Dublin today as the libel case between RTE and Beverly Cooper-Flynn opens, writes Carol Coulter.
The case arises from reports by Mr Bird carried by RTE radio and television news between June 19th and July 1st 1998 about financial investment schemes said to have been sold by Ms Cooper-Flynn while she was working for National Irish Bank. The case is expected to be heard by the president of the High Court, Mr Justice Morris and a jury.
