Mr Conrad Gallagher, a chef, was ordered by the High Court yesterday not to dispose of his £700,000 house in Killiney, Co Dublin, until the landlord of one of his former restaurants takes further steps to obtain some £64,000 which he claims is due to him from Mr Gallagher.
On October 23rd Mr Gerard McGurn obtained a £64,000 judgment plus costs by consent against the chef.
Mr McGurn was landlord of Mr Gallagher's restaurant, Lloyds Brasserie at Upper Mount Street, and claimed to be owed £57,000 in rent.
Yesterday Mr Justice Smyth granted an injunction restraining Mr Gallagher from disposing of his Killiney house until the £64,000 charge had been registered against it on behalf of Mr McGurn.
When the case was before the court on Monday, counsel for Mr Gallagher had asked for the setting aside of a previous order appointing Mr McGurn's solicitor, Mr Fergus Gallagher, as receiver over monies which may be owed to the chef.
