A countrywide touring production of children's theatre is still a new phenomenon, so when Barnstorm Theatre Company takes its award-winning production, Earwigs, on tour this week, young audiences should take note. Written by Maeve Ingoldsby in collaboration with TEAM Educational Theatre Company, Earwigs explores the often-complex communications between parents and their offspring. It tells the story of a chaotic summer in the lives of an ordinary family as seen through the eyes of 11-year-old Eddy (played by Eoin Slattery, right). Following its run in Kilkenny, Earwigs will travel to Mullingar, Sligo, Letterkenny and more.
