Children tell of hopes for NI peace at forum

Jeffrey Rockett has strong opinions

Jeffrey Rockett has strong opinions. He may be only 13-years-old but he knows his mind and he knows how children should be treated.

Jeffrey chaired a press conference held as part of the ISPCC's fifth annual Look who's Talking national children's forum in Dublin.

Gary Friary (14), from Monaghan, spoke about his hopes for peace in the North.

Twelve-year-old Amy Allen from Clondalkin said children had a right to live without fear. Her friend Mary Louise Hollywood (10) spoke last.

Afterwards the children were involved in workshops to help them communicate their views and feelings about the issues which affect their lives.
