London - Methodist church leaders yesterday defended an article published in their church magazine suggesting SAS troops be sent to kill the Iraqi leader, President Saddam Hussein. The Rev Ian Duncan, superintendent minister at Hereford Methodist Church, said, as a member of the editorial committee, he had cleared it for publication. The article, under the heading "Should Christians wage war?" by an anonymous author, said: "The best option would be to send an SAS squadron into Iraq and assassinate Saddam."
