THE youth section of the Ulster Unionist Party has sharply criticised the Presbyterian Church over statements issued on the Drumcree stand off and the issue of marches and parades.

In a statement yesterday, the Ulster Young Unionist Council (UYUC) accused the church of "failing to reflect the views of their laity". The organisation implied that the church was less than supportive of the Union.

The chairman of the UYUC, Mr Gavin Adams, released the text of a letter addressed to the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, Dr Harry Allen, asking for a meeting with him to discuss the issue.
