The four vaults at St Michan's Church, Dublin which were not desecrated by vandals last weekend will remain open to the public.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the parish vestry last night.
Canon David Pierpoint, Vicar of St Michan's Church, said the parishioners wanted the historic value of the famous 11th century church in the north inner city to be experienced by all who wish to visit it.
"I believe the decision shows the resilience of our parishioners and their determination to conquer the evil desecration at the hands of mindless vandals."
