A clampdown on shops that sell damaged food products has been called for by Labour TD Ms Mary Upton.
In a statement yesterday, Ms Upton appealed to the health board and the Director of Consumer Affairs to act. She said: "People living on tight budgets, like older people or women with young families, can be tempted by cheap deals. "People risk food poisoning if they consume these products. Food poisoning can lead to serious illness and can kill."
