Wexford-based medical device firm ClearStream Technologies has announced a two-year extension to its distribution agreement with Cordis Corporation.

The agreement, which has been in place since 2006, is for Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Cordis to distribute two of its balloon dilation catheters globally.

Both devices received FDA approval for distribution in February of this year.

ClearStream said it would be investing in increasing its production capability to meet increase global demand.

Cordis employs 460 people at its plant in Cashel, Co Tipperary.
