A 25-year-old Clondalkin man accused of attacking two schoolgirls was remanded in custody when he appeared at Kilmainham District Court yesterday.
Sgt Anthony Hughes objected to bail, saying he felt the defendant would not appear if released. He said the defendant had been making arrangements to go to England before the results of his blood sample became available.
A solicitor, Ms Phena Byrne, said the defendant was willing to surrender his passport.
The defendant is charged with sexually assaulting and falsely imprisoning a 10-year-old girl on January 12th, and with raping and falsely imprisoning a 12-year-old girl on March 16th.
