After establishing themselves as one of the premier club-runners in the country, thanks to their old weekend nights at The Gaiety Theatre (which they're no longer involved in), the Velure team have got their dancing shoes on again and this time they're double mad for it. Now located in the Vicar Street venue every Friday and Saturday night, Velure guarantee a no-rip off, guaranteed good night out. Mixing live bands and both national and international DJs, the focus is on quality musical entertainment. And they don't come more quality than the legendary Clint Velour and the Camembert Quartet (right) whose cabaret shows are the talk of clubbing society, whether that be Las Vegas or Rathmines. Their set list boasts eclectic musical styles which take in "The Prodigy in a manic jazz beat-poetry style", and "The Sex Pistols done as only Frank Sinatra would allow", and, gulp, "the hits of Joe Dolan and Brendan Boyer as the Undertones would have played them". Their line-up includes the mysterious Clint Velour, a sort of Cathal Coughlan meets Vic Reeves figure. Surrender to his charms next Friday night.
