A Newbridge, Co Kildare, man who has been accused of attempting to smuggle drugs through Cardiff International Airport has been committed for Crown Court trial by magistrates at Barry, in South Wales.

Mr Christopher Dowling (l9), whose home address has been given as Stand House Lawns, Newbridge, is alleged to have had l7kg of cannabis, which was allegedly in his luggage.

The case has been scheduled at Cardiff Crown Court for Monday, September 7th. No application for bail was made, and Mr Dowling was again remanded in custody.
