The National College of Industrial Relations is to establish "a college of the 21st century" to meet the demands of the technological revolution. A two-day meeting of the college's international advisory committee on informatics and engineering is being held in Dublin.

The committee includes: Dr John Hopcroft, Cornell University, US; Dr John Hennessy, Stanford University, US; Dr Stephen Director, University of Michigan, US; Prof Ed Lazowska, University of Washington, US. It is assisting with the development of a new faculty in informatics and technology.
