Colombia has named Fernando Araujo as its new foreign minister.
Mr Araujo only escaped six weeks ago from rebels who kidnapped him in 2000.

His appointment came hours after former foreign minister Maria Consuelo Araujo resigned following her brother's arrest on charges he helped finance illegal paramilitaries.
Mr Araujo is no relation to the former foreign minister.
