A complaint has been lodged with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment over the awarding of an insurance contract for gardai.
A spokesman for the Department confirmed last night that a complaint was made to it on Friday over the awarding of the Garda Representative Association (GRA) life-insurance scheme to former GRA president Mr Frank Mullen, of Killiney, Co Dublin.
A Department source said it had to be determined first if the complaint was one relating to insurance, or whether it was one relating to tendering, which then would be a matter for the Department of Justice.
