RACING:In Compliance is set to return from a lay-off of over four months in the Punchestown Guinness Gold Cup on Wednesday, April 25.

The seven-year-old has been absent from the track since winning the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase at the track in December.

In Compliance subsequently traded towards the head of the ante-post markets for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup but missed the race as trainer Michael O'Brien was not completely satisfied with his progress.

"At the moment we're planning to go to the Guinness Punchestown Gold Cup and he seems fine at the minute," O'Brien explained.

"We had a problem with all of the horses before Cheltenham.

"They weren't running well and obviously had a touch of something."

In Compliance has yet to race beyond two miles, five furlongs but O'Brien is not expecting the extra half a mile to count against In Compliance in the upcoming Grade One feature.

"I have no doubts about him staying the trip and the ground wouldn't be a problem either," he added.

"We're hopeful of a big run at Punchestown."
