A man who was found with £27,000-worth of Dell laptop computers stolen from the Guinness brewery has been jailed for three years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Joseph Casey (23), Coolock, Dublin, pleaded guilty to having the computers on October 4th, 1999. Ms Caroline Biggs, defending, said Casey planned to sell the computers to feed his drug habit. All the stolen property was recovered.
Judge Elizabeth Dunne said the seriousness of the offence left her no option but to impose a custodial sentence.
