Concern was mounting yesterday as to the wellbeing of a 21-year-old Cork student who has been missing since mid-December.

Joe Mullally was last seen in An Brog pub, Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork, in the early hours of December 15th. He left the bar at 1.30am and was expected to go to a friend's house in Bishopstown. Members of the Garda sub-aqua team who carried out a search of the River Lee have extended their search from Cork port down river to Blackrock and Dunkettle.

When last seen he was wearing brown suede trainers, dark blue jeans, a beige cord jacket with a lambs wool neck and a dark blue T-shirt. He has mouse blonde gelled hair, is 6ft 1in tall, and of medium, slim build. He has two piercings: a stud and bar over his left eyebrow and a hoop in his left ear.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Mayfield are searching for a 47-year-old woman who also went missing on December 15th. Breda Morrissey, Lotamore Avenue, is 5ft 10in with short blonde hair. Her two front teeth are missing.
