Washington - For the first time since the Chandra Levy case surfaced, the US Congressman, Mr Gary Condit, was threatened with legal action yesterday for his comments in the wake of the disappearance of the US government intern.

Mr Jim Robinson, an attorney representing Ms Anne Marie Smith, who claims Mr Condit tried to coerce her into signing a false affidavit, said he would file a lawsuit against the law-maker possibly as early as today. According to Ms Smith, the request came during investigations into the case
