A two-day conference, "Understanding Class in Ireland", begins at 11 a.m today at the Arts Block, UCD. Speakers include Prof Erik Olin Wright, an authority on class structure in the US, Prof Terry Eagleton of Oxford University, Prof Kathleen Lynch of UCD, and Prof Christopher Whelan of the ESRI.
