Ulster Coach Alan Solomons made three changes to the starting line-up, that defeated Northampton a fortnight ago, ahead of this Friday's showdown with Leinster.
Solomons has moved Ryan Constable onto the wing to generate more pace in the back line while Shane Stewart returns to outside centre to partner Adam Larkin.
Although the Ravenhill fixture carries no reward like a Heineken Cup or Celtic League tie, Solomons stressed the opportunity to impress ahead of the Six Nations Championship.
"This is a very important match. Munster play Neath in the Celtic League final on Saturday, and this match gives Ulster and Leinster some top quality game-time ahead of Six Nations selection. It is very important in terms of staking claims for national places and players like Neil McMillan will have a chance to make their mark."
Justin Fitzpatrick and Paul Shields were named on the bench but Solomons confirmed both players will be given ample opportunity to impress Irish selectors.
Ulster captain Andy Ward warned of Leinster's high expectation and their desire to succeed home and way: "I certainly wouldn't fancy coming to Ravenhill to play rugby these days but no doubt about it, Leinster will be up for the challenge and won't want a slip up at this stage."
