Employment in construction increased by an annual rate of 3.2 per cent in September, according to the latest data from the Central Statistics Office.
The construction sector is experiencing unprecedented growth in recent years and has replaced exports as the the dominant sector driving economic growth.
House completions in 2205 are expected to match or exceed last year's record output of 77,00 units.
The construction sector has created around 76,000 jobs since 2000, accounting for 42 per cent of all private sector employment growth.
