A READER called Rosaleen contacted us in connection with Permanent TSB.

She was prompted to get in touch after realising that her bank now charges €2.50 per page for sending a statement out.

“I spent 15 minutes waiting in a branch to be told that the branches can’t, or won’t, print a statement, and mortgage or loan applications, etc. They will not accept internet-printed statements, even when I offered to have it stamped in a branch so it could be verified.”

While our reader highlights PTSB, the reality is every bank is at it and the charges for getting duplicate statements bears absolutely no relationship to the work involved
