DUBLIN BUS
My bugbear with Dublin Bus related to their drivers’ refusal to use the middle doors (a problem since solved by removing them altogether). This was particularly galling if you were at the back of a crowded “bendy bus” and had to trek to the front to get off.
I use public transport daily and actually am pretty satisfied with the service I get although I guess I’m luckier than most in that I live and work in areas well suited to the routes in place. – Tom Ennis
RIP-OFF REPUBLIC
I’m constantly upset by the much higher prices in the Republic. I’m also a public sector worker, which means I’ve taken around an 18 per cent pay reduction in the past year or so. I have so little disposable income left I do most of my shopping in the North or, when realistic, anywhere else except the Republic (even allowing for petrol or postage, I save more than 20 per cent). I’ll continue to do so until I see value for money here. – Simon T
