The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has urged the food industry to be vigilant when sourcing honey labelled as Irish, following the results of a recent FSAI survey, which indicated misleading labelling on certain batches. The survey of 20 randomly selected Irish honeys showed that five were found not to be Irish. Kilkenny Pure Irish Honey, Natural Ireland Honey, Irish Honey- Wheelock's Fruit Stall and Wexford Honey - were labelled as Irish, but the survey indicated honey of non-Irish origin. A fifth - Molaga Pure Honey - bore a misleading label of origin. Full details from www.fsai.ie.
