GAA: Cork IT and DIT will contest the Sigerson Cup final after both colleges came through their respective semi-finals against NUI Galway and UCD in Cork this afternoon.
Cork inter-county player Daniel Goulding put in an impressive individual performance with a personal tally of 0-05 to help the hosts run out narrow 0-14 to 0-13 winners.
The home side had looked comfortable midway through the second half but towards the closing stages their lead was tested by a resurgent Galway side.
Galway reduced a six-point deficit to just one with key scores coming from former Roscommon minors Cathal Kenny and David O'Gara plus Galway's Sean Armstrong. However, the final whistle came just in time for the hosts.
DIT booked their place in the final with a much more convincing 3-08 to 1-04 win over their Dublin rivals.
