A chemical firm in East Cork confirmed today it is to close with the loss of 92 jobs.
Mitsui Mining & Smelting Co said in a statement that it had decided to end manufacturing at its factory in Little Island and close the Mitsui Denman (Ireland) plant in the next few weeks.
It said the company was in an "irreversible loss making situation"', with a weak US dollar compounding its difficulties.
