Cork airport tonight faced the second delay in 24 hours as a dispute with air traffic controllers escalated.
The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) said six flights at the airport will be grounded between tonight and 8am tomorrow because a worker called in sick and his colleagues refused to cover his shift.
There was another eight-hour stoppage by the controllers earlier today.
The IAA is locked in a dispute with air traffic controllers over staffing levels.
The controllers issued a two-week strike notice to management on Tuesday after staff voted in favour of industrial action.
Tonight's action affects one late night arrival and five early morning departures from the airport.
The IAA said it regretted the inconvenience to the travelling public.
"Intending passengers are advised to contact their airline for further information," said a spokeswoman.
Further talks are scheduled to take place on Tuesday between the IAA and the controllers' union, Impact.
