Cork players have been granted more time to decide whether to accept or reject the offer of binding arbitration from the Labour Relations Commission in their dispute with the county board.
Players' representatives met this evening and were expected to confirm whether or not they would be taking to the field in the national hurling and football leagues.
Yesterday the ball was thrown back in to the players' court after the county board agreed to binding arbitration under proposals to be put forward by Kieran Mulvey of the LRC.
The main bone of contention for the players is the appointment, in November, of football manager Teddy Holland. The players also want the manager to be able to pick his own selectors rather than have them appointed by the board.
Cork footballers are scheduled to meet Dublin this week, while the hurlers are due to meet Waterford in Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
As it stands, both games look to be in serious doubt, meaning Cork's failure to field teams in two consecutive weeks could result in their disqualification from this year's league.
