A technology firm is to create 170 jobs in Cork, it was announced today.
The 170 research positions at the Tyndall National Institute, Ireland's largest information and communications technology (ICT) researcher, come as part of a €50 million expansion programme at the facility.
The investment will see the expansion of the company's facilities at Lee Maltings, where a 170,000-square-feet complex is to be built. The staff expansion is expected over the next four years.
The development will include a new laboratories building and new incubation facilities for companies in the ICT sector.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin said today: "This expansion will ensure that Ireland continues to offer top class research facilities and graduates to companies which are pushing the boundaries in many areas of science."
