Paris - The French Prime Minister, Mr Lionel Jospin's troubled peace plan for Corsica unleashed another storm yesterday after the government offered to meet a key demand of nationalists.
The Interior Minister, Mr Daniel Vaillant, visiting the island on Saturday to try to revive the plan, announced the government intended to build a special detention centre in Corsica so arrested separatists could be held near their families.
Nationalists have long complained that moving detainees to France amounts to a form of family punishment.
