David Coulthard, seeking his third successive win in his home event, topped the times in today's warm-up for the British Grand Prix when he clocked one minute 22.994 seconds in his McLaren Mercedes-Benz.

The Scot finished ahead of Italian Jarno Trulli in a Jordan-Honda.

Coulthard's McLaren team mate Finn Mika Hakkinen was third fastest on a dry and cool morning when the conditions were a distinct improvement on the wet and cold weather on Saturday.

Hakkinen topped the times midway through the session before Coulthard pushed his way ahead in the closing minutes to finish 0.188 seconds ahead of Trulli.
