Cork County Council is expected to make a decision soon on whether Dairygold's proposed move of its administration sector to Cork Airport Business Park is in accordance with planning permission for the park.
According to a council spokesman, the council received more information yesterday afternoon from Dairygold about the proposed move.
The matter is being examined by the council's legal department, and a decision is expected within days.
Last week the Cork county manager, Mr Maurice Moloney, said the council had advised Dairygold that the move from Mallow and Mitchelstown to Cork Airport Business Park breached planning permission.
Doubts about the move under the park's planning designation were first raised by a Mitchelstown councillor, Mr Kevin O'Keeffe (Fianna Fáil) earlier this month.
Mr O'Keeffe said he believed the Specific Zoning Objectives for the Cork Airport Business Park were for aviation-related uses and he asked Mr Moloney to investigate Dairygold's planned move.
However, Dairygold has informed staff it intends to move to Cork Airport Business Park from December 13th. A Dairygold spokesman said yesterday that the company had consulted its legal advisers and was confident the move met requirements.
