Hundreds of people yesterday attended the funeral of the young couple killed in a road accident on Monday in which a father and daughter were the drivers of the vehicles involved.
Ms Caroline Cliffe (19) and her boyfriend, Mr Richard Lonergan (23), died following a head-on collision between their car and a truck being driven by her father, Mr Patrick Cliffe, on the Clonmel-Dungarvan road.
The parish church at Touraneena, near Dungarvan, where the dead couple were near neighbours, was packed to capacity for the funeral Mass.
The parish priest, Father Connie Kelleher, said the community was devastated by what had happened.
