Girls are queuing up for an Eastern Health Board course aimed at reducing the rate of teenage pregnancies, the EHB says.

The programme's goal is to enable young people to develop communication and decision-making skills, to understand peer pressure and to improve their self-esteem.

At the end of the courses run so far, there was an increase in the number of teenagers who saw respect as part of being in love. More also said they would postpone sex until they fell in love. The EHB says there are now waiting lists for the course in some locations.
