A Pakistani court has ordered the release of the husband of opposition leader Benazir Bhutto after accepting his application for bail a day after he was arrested for failing to attend a court hearing.
"He has again been given bail and we hope to get him released by this evening after depositing the 300,000 rupees (€3,700)" Mr Azizullah Sheikh, a lawyer for Bhutto's husband, Asif Ali Zardari, said.
Mr Zardari did not attend the hearing at the high court in the southern province of Sindh because he was under house arrest after failing to attend a bail hearing at an anti-terrorism court in Karachi yesterday.
