The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Brian Cowen, today dismissed newspaper reports alleging a serving member of the Cabinet is being investigated for receiving a corrupt payment.
No question of ambiguity in the party’s stance on corruption and . . .the party had fully co-operated with the tribunal - Mr Brian Cowen

Speaking at a Nice campaign launch, Mr Cowen said he knew nothing about such suggestions and that allegations of this nature were a matter for the tribunals.
He said the Fianna Fáil Party fully accepted the findings of the Flood Tribunal in relation to Mr Ray Burke.
The Minister said there was no question of ambiguity in the party’s stance on corruption and that the party had fully co-operated with the tribunal.
He said it was important to let the tribunals do their job and not to prejudice the outcome.
The Government has come under increasing political pressure since the publication of the Flood’s interim report last week. It found Mr Burke, who the Taoiseach appointed minister for foreign affairs five years ago, had acted corruptly.
Meanwhile, in her first statement on the Flood Interim Report, the Tanaiste, Ms Harney said that while it made depressing reading, it was "a terrific act of public service" which was unambiguous in its conclusions.
