A fashion design competition sponsored by Hudson Blue Club (Ice Cider) gives students a chance to be creative and original, and if they are not they will certainly not pick up the £3,000 overall prize, or the £500 destined for two others.

But the Hudson Blue Club look, which can be male, female or fashionably androgynous, will be very much in tune with their interests and outlooks. The awards will be presented next April.

Daryl Kerrigan, an Irish designer based in New York with a string of retail stores throughout the US and two labels, Daryl K and K-189, will chair the judging panel. The other judges are Marc O'Neill, fashion designer, John Reynolds of The Pod, Barry McCall, fashion photographer, and Paula Hughes, stylist.

Entry forms for the competition, now in its second year, will be sent to all colleges, and are also available from Hudson Blue Club Look Awards, Administrative Office, 14, Leeson Park, Dublin 6. The closing date is January 30th, 1998.
