Ms Eileen Blackall, who fought a legal battle for years in an unsuccessful bid to save her family home at Marino Park, Blackrock, Co Dublin, faces penury.

Creditors to the Blackall estate gathered in the County Registrar's office yesterday claiming payment of debts that will wipe out the £440,000 a building developer paid into court for the Blackall holding.

Among them was Ulster Bank, which is claiming £174,000, including £123,000 interest on a loan of just over £50,000 taken out in 1988.

The Bank of Ireland has waived 90 per cent of an undisclosed figure it was owed.
