More than 40 firefighters are tackling a major blaze at a recycling plant outside Derry.
A 200-metre exclusion zone has been set up around the Peak Environmental recycling centre at Clooney Road, Campsie.
Five fire engines and four specialist appliances were called to the scene at about 11.45am.
Efforts to control the fire are being hampered because there is a large quantity of diesel and several gas cylinders inside the building.
A spokeswoman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said crews would be on the ground for several more hours.
She said: “We received the call to attend the incident this morning at 11.45am. Firefighters encountered a fully developed fire in several buildings. The buildings contain large quantities of plastic and cardboard and diesel and several gas cylinders are also involved in the incident.
“It is anticipated that the incident will continue for several hours.”
People living in the area have been advised to stay indoors and close their windows because of the smoke pollution.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
