CRH has bought three concrete block plants on the US east coast from Denmark's Unicon Group.
Unicon's US block-making operations have suffered losses for some time - partly because of the difficult market conditions.
Unicon said it will sell its two remaining block manufacturing plants in the near future.
No financial details were released.
