BRIEFS: WebsiteA new European website will monitor racist incidents, including in Ireland, the Immigrant Council of Ireland has announced. The ICI is a member of the Greek-based Institute for Rights Equality and Diversity (i-RED), a network of research and civil society organisations in 17 EU-member states, which has set up the website.

It can be accessed at red-network.eu.

Victims’ Rights Conference

Conference:The Irish Council for Civil Liberties ICCL is organising a conference on victims' rights in Dublin Castle on April 12th from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Speakers include Ray McAndrew, Gillian Hussey, Dr Shane Kilcommins and David McKenna and the conference will be opened by Minister for Justice Alan Shatter.

Legal rights conference

Debt:The legal rights organisation, FLAC, will host a full-day conference on Thursday, April 19th in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin.

The conference will feature keynote addresses from international experts Prof Jason Kilborn, John Marshall Law School, Chicago, Illinois and Egil Rokhaug, lawyer, Ministry of Children and Family Affairs, Oslo, Norway.

Personal Insolvency Bill

Seminar:The Irish Women Lawyers Association is holding a seminar on the Personal Insolvency Bill on April 24th at the Distillery Building, Church St, from 6-8pm. Speakers include MABS' Yvonne Bogdanovic, Ross Maguire SC, Julie Murphy-O'Connor of Matheson Ormsby Prentice solicitors, and the seminar will be chaired by Michael Lavelle of Lavelle Coleman, solicitors.
