A man found murdered in north Belfast had been stabbed repeatedly, the PSNI has said.

Paschal McAfee (50), a father of two known as “Basil”, was found dead by his mother at an address on Henderson Avenue off the Cavehill Road in the city yesterday.

He was last seen alive in the area at about 4pm on Thursday. His body was discovered at around 1pm yesterday.

Mr McAfee, who had a son and a daughter, had only recently moved into the area.

Detectives investigating his death have released a photograph of the victim and appealed for further information.
