Fire not treated as suspicious, says Garda spokesman

An apartment complex in Drumcondra was evacuated early this morning after a fire was reported in the basement of a building on Richmond road. Twelve Units of Dublin Fire Brigade were called to the blaze at 4.48am at the Richmond Hall apartments. There were no injuries in the fire.

The blaze broke out in a car parked in the basement of the building before spreading to multiple vehicles. A spokeswoman from the Dublin Fire Brigade has confirmed the fire is under control and units are dealing with smoke log from the basement.

Richmond road is currently closed but is expected to reopen shortly. A Garda spokesman said the blaze is not being treated as suspicions.
