Boys aged 14 and 17 held in North over theft of car

Pair suspected of aggravated burglary, taking car and dangerous driving

The PSNI said two boys entered a house at Lille Park, south Belfast, at 11.45pm on Saturday. They took a set of car keys and then stole a car parked outside.

A 14-year-old boy is one of two teenagers arrested in Northern Ireland over the theft of a car.

The pair, including a 17-year-old youth, are suspected of a number of offences including aggravated burglary, taking and driving away a car and dangerous driving.

The PSNI said two youngsters entered a house at Lille Park, in south Belfast, at about 11.45pm on Saturday night.

They made off with a set of car keys and then stole the car.

It is believed one of the males was armed with a knife.

A short time later the car was found abandoned in the Arnon Street area of north Belfast.

Insp John Murray said: “The two males currently remain in custody assisting police with their inquiries.”
