Gardaí in Dublin seized cannabis herb worth approximately €500,000 earlier today.
The seizure was made after members of the Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Unit stopped two vehicles in the Coolock/Santry area.
The cannabis was discovered during searches of the vehicles.
Four men aged between 27 and 58 were arrested at the scene. They are being held in Ballymun and Coolock Garda stations under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
Later, gardaí from the Finglas District Drugs Unit seized cocaine with an estimated value of €15,000.
The discovery was made as part of an ongoing operation into thesale and supply of drugs in the Finglas West area of Dublin. The drugs were found following a planned search of a house on Ratoath Drive, Finglas West, at about 6pm.
A man in his mid-20s was arrested at the scene along with a boy and a girl, both of whom are under the age of 18.
They were detained at Finglas Garda station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
All three were released this evening and files will be prepared for the Garda Office for Children & Youth Affairs and the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A Garda spokesman said the operations involved the use of “advanced analytical and intelligence methods” to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.
“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” he said. “Drug seizures also help protect communities from the devastating impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
