The trial of a woman who is accused of failing to disclose information to An Garda Síochána in connection with the murder of Noel Crawford in Limerick city in 2006 begins today.
Mary Maloney (47) of South Claughan Road, Garryowen, Limerick, is charged between December 18th, 2006, and February 2011, both dates inclusive, with having information that she knew or believed might be of material assistance in securing the apprehension, prosecution or conviction of another person for a serious offence, to wit the murder of Noel Crawford, and without reasonable excuse failed to disclose such information as soon as practicable to a member of An Garda Síochána.
Ms Maloney was arraigned before the Central Criminal Court yesterday, where she pleaded not guilty.
A jury of six men and six women was sworn in to hear the trial.
Mr Justice Carroll Moran told the jury the case was expected to take four to five days.
